Traditional Venetian hand made and decorated mask. In Medieval this mask was used by Venetian plague doctors as a disguise when they visited people afflicted with plague. The mask with the long beak is made to keep in it substances and aromas that it was believed would have protected the doctor from getting contaminated from the plague. Mask is made of paper mache, then decorated with macrame and Swarovski crystal pieces. Perfect as a part of Carnival, Halloween, Masquerade, or Mardi Gras party costume or could be an amazing wall decoration for your home or office. Mask has two ribbons for wearing.
