Traditional Venetian hand made and decorated paper mache mask. In Medieval this mask was used by Venetian plague doctors as a disguise when they visited people afflicted with plague. The mask with the long beak is made to keep in it substances and aromas that it was believed would have protected the doctor from getting contaminated from the plague. This mask is designed as a wall decoration, but can be used as part of Carnival, Halloween, Masquerade, or Mardi Gras party costume. Mask has two ribbons for wearing.
